Day 1 - After breakfast, we will visit a canopy tower, located in Manaus Botanic Garden. The tower is stable and easy to climb. It offers birders the possibility of seeing Marail Guan, Double-toothed Kite, Black-faced Ruddy and Plumbeous Pigeon, Black-bellied Cuckoo, Black-eared Fairy, Yellow-billed and Paradise Jacamar, Guianan Puffbird, Black-spotted Barbet, Guianan Toucanet, Green Aracari, White- throated and Channel-billed Toucan, Waved Woodpecker, Lined Forest-Falcon, Orange-breasted Falcon, Caica and Red-lored Parrot, Spot-backed Antwren, Fasciated Antshrike, Guianan Woodcreeper, Glossy- backed Becard, Pompadour and Spangled Cotinga, Yellow-margined Flycatcher, Painted Tody-Flycatcher, Guianan Tyrannulet, Yellow-throated Flycatcher, Slaty-capped Shrike-Vireo, Buff-cheeked Greenlet, Purple and Red-legged Honeycreeper. As well as this impressive bird list, we will have a chance to see several tanagers species as Dotted, Spotted and Paradise Tanager. After lunch, we will visit a number of trails outside Manaus looking for Violaceous Trogon, Great Jacamar, Golden-collared Woodpecker, Dusky and Red-fan Parrot, Sapphire-rumped Parrotlet, Mouse-colored Antshrike, Ferruginous-backed and Hellmayr's Antbird, Tiny Tyrant-Manakin, Pink-throated Becard, Purple-breasted Cotinga, Crimson Fruitcrow, Golden-bellied Euphonia, Blue-backed Tanager and Chestnut-bellied Seedeater. Day 2 - Early breakfast and check out of the hotel. We will drive an hour to the small city of Iranduba. The open areas at the varzea hold some very interesting species, such as Black-collared and Savanna Hawk, Purple and Azure Gallinule, Chestnut-capped Puffbird, Festive and Short-tailed Parrot, Tui and White- winged Parakeet, Spot-breasted Woodpecker, Lesser Hornero, Zimmer's Woodcreeper, White-headed Marsh Tyrant, River Tyrannulet, Russet-backed Oropendola, Red-breasted Blackbird, Pearly-breasted and Bicolored Conebill, Lesson's and Wing-barred Seedeater, Amazonian Grayish Saltator and Chestnut-bellied Seed-Finch. After lunch, we will transfer to Novo Airão city (around 170 Km – 2:30 hours). This afternoon, we will be looking for Chestnut-belted Gnateater, Negro Stipplethroat, Pearly Antshrike, Yellow-browed and White-cheeked Antbird, Reddish-winged Bare-eye, Northern Ocellated Woodcreeper and Imeri Wren. There are good opportunities here for night birding and we will look for Black-banded Owl, White-winged and Rufous Potoo. Dinner and checklist.

Day 3 - After breakfast, we will take a boat at Novo Airão city and cross the Rio Negro River. Our destination will be the Anavilhanas National Park, with more than 400 islands. This is the perfect place to look for birds such as Crested Eagle, Slate-colored Hawk, Sunbittern, Streak-throated Hermit, Blue- crowned Trogon, Ringed and Cream-colored Woodpecker, Festive Parrot, Black-crested and Blackish-gray Antshrike, Leaden and Klages's Antwren, Black-chinned and Rio Negro Ash-breasted Antbird, Zimmer's and Long-billed Woodcreeper, Speckled Spinetail, Wire-tailed Manakin, Varzea Schiffornis, Snethlage's Tody-Tyrant, Amazonian Black-Tyrant, Amazonian Umbrellabird, Gray-chested Greenlet, Red-capped Cardinal and Yellow-bellied Dacnis. Before, we return to Novo Airão for lunch, we will stop for an unforgettable experience to see the Pink Dolphins feeding. After lunch we will walk the trails around Novo Airão looking for some very special birds such as White-chested and Collared Puffbird, Cinereous and Spot-winged Antshrike, Gray Antwren, Collared Gnatwren, Duida Woodcreeper, Rufous-tailed Xenops, White-crowned and Dwarf Tyrant-Manakin, White-crested Spadebill, Yellow-browed Tody-Flycatcher, Slender-footed Tyrannulet, Forest Elaenia and Yellow-crowned Tyrannulet. At dusk, we will look for nocturnal birds that we haven’t seen. Dinner and checklist.

Day 4 - Today, we will dedicate to look for bird species that we have not seen around Novo Airão city.

Day 5 - Early breakfast and check out of the hotel. We will drive for about an hour to bird at the trail near Manacapuru city. We will spend most of the day at this area, before we return to Manaus city. Target birds are, Fiery Topaz, White-fronted Nunbird, Gilded Barbet, Ivory-billed Aracari, Lafresnaye's Piculet, Red-stained Woodpecker, Maroon-tailed Parakeet, Reddish-winged Bare-eye, White-plumed Antbird, Peruvian Warbling-Antbird, Duida and long-tailed Woodcreeper, Golden-headed and Blue-crowned Manakin, Masked Tityra, Screaming Piha, Black-necked Red-Cotinga, Wing-barred Piprites, Brownish Twistwing, Spotted Tody-Flycatcher, Coraya Wren, Rufous-bellied and White-vented Euphonia. Day 6 - After breakfast, we will take a boat to the Marchantaria Island, located at the Solimões River. We will spend the morning looking for the Green-throated Mango, Olive-spotted Hummingbird, Black-and- white Antbird, Parker's Spinetail, Red-and-white Spinetail, White-bellied Spinetail, Dark-breasted Spinetail, Lesser Wagtail-Tyrant, Riverside Tyrant, Yellow-hooded Blackbird and Oriole Blackbird. On the way back to where we took the boat, we will make a brief stop at the meeting of the waters. This is where the waters of the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões (also known as Amazon River) meet. After lunch, we will take the ferry towards the city of Careiro da Várzea. We will be birding all the afternoon on the road from Careiro da Várzea towards to Careiro city (around 90 Km – 1:30 hours). Target birds here are Horned Screamer, Slender-billed Kite, Hoatzin, White-chinned Jacamar, Chestnut-capped and Spotted Puffbird, Bar-breasted Piculet, White-throated Woodpecker, Glossy Antshrike, Red-billed Scythebill, Striped Woodcreeper, Orange-fronted Plushcrown and Dull-capped Attila. At the end of the day, we will check in at the hotel at Careiro city. Dinner and checklist.

Day 7 - Early breakfast and birding all day on the trails around Careiro city. Target birds will be White- browed Hawk, Kawall's and Orange-cheeked Parrot, Needle-billed Hermit, Amazonian Trogon, Blue- cheeked Jacamar, Rufous-necked Puffbird, Fulvous-chinned Nunlet, Golden-collared Toucanet, Brown- mandibled and Curl-crested Aracari, Spot-throated Woodpecker, Madeira Predicted and Stipple-throated Antwren, Humaita and White-throated Antbird, Peruvian Warbling-Antbird, Hairy-crested Antbird, Elegant and Bar-bellied Woodcreeper, Chestnut-winged Hookbill, Red-headed and Flame-crowned Manakin, Yellow-browed Tody-Flycatcher, Bare-necked Fruitcrow, Short-tailed Pygmy-Tyrant, Citron- bellied Attila, Rufous-tailed Flatbill, Cinereous Becard, Scaly-breasted Wren, Wing-barred Seedeater, Crimson-hooded Tanager and the rare White-bellied Dacnis. Day 8 - Today we will look for species that we have not seen previously.

Day 9 - After breakfast, we check out of the hotel to drive back to Careiro da Várzea city to get the ferry to Manaus city. Our final destination will be Presidente Figueiredo city, located at the north of Manaus city (around 100 Km – 1:30 hours). Presidente Figueiredo is the home of innumerous wonderful birds as the Harpy Eagle, White Hawk, Lined Forest-Falcon, Thrush-like Antpitta, Spotted Antpitta, Spot-throated Woodcreeper, Musician Wren, among many others. Opportunities are good for night birding and we will look for Crested and Spectacled Owl, Tawny-bellied Screech-Owl, White-winged and Rufous Potoo, Short- tailed Nighthawk, Rufous and Blackish Nightjar. Day 10 - Early breakfast and birding all day on the trails around Presidente Figueiredo. Target birds will be Marail Guan, Gray-winged Trumpeter, Straight-billed Hermit, Gray-breasted Sabrewing, Crimson Topaz, Yellow-billed Jacamar, Black-spotted Barbet, Guianan Toucanet, Rufous-bellied Antwren, Crimson Fruitcrow, Capuchinbird, Guianan Red-Cotinga, Wing-banded Wren, Collared Gnatwren, Moriche Oriole, Blue-backed Tanager and Fulvous Shrike-Tanager among many others. Day 11 - After an early breakfast, we will drive around an hour to go birding near Balbina village. There is a fantastic patch of forest around this area where we will look for Great Tinamou, Harpy Eagle, Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Red-necked Woodpecker, Red-throated Caracara, Painted Parakeet, Sapphire-rumped Parrotlet, Black-headed Parrot, Northern Slaty-Antshrike, Hellmayr's Antbird, Red-billed Woodcreeper, Curve-billed Scythebill, Buff-throated and Rufous-rumped Foliage-gleaner, White-fronted and White-throated Manakin, Guianan Red-Cotinga, Double-banded Pygmy-Tyrant, White-breasted Wood-Wren and Guianan Gnatcatcher.

Day 12 - After breakfast, target birds will be Variable Chachalaca, Bronzy Jacamar, Black Nunbird, Red-fan Parrot, Sapphire-rumped Parrotlet, Dusky-throated Antshrike, Guianan Warbling-Antbird, Point-tailed Palmcreeper, Chestnut-rumped Woodcreeper, Yellow-crowned and Saffron-crested Tyrant-Manakin, Dusky Purpletuft, Pelzeln's Tody-Tyrant, Rufous-tailed Flatbill, Yellow-throated Flycatcher and if the weather is kind, we will enjoy fabulous views of the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock. Opportunities are good for night birding and we will look for Crested and Spectacled Owl, Tawny-bellied Screech-Owl, White-winged and Rufous Potoo, Short-tailed Nighthawk, Rufous and Blackish Nightjar. Day 13 - This is the last day of the tour, but we should still have time in the morning to look for any species around Presidente Figueiredo that we may not have caught up with so far. We will take the participants to the Manaus International airport according to the flight schedules of the group, where our tour ends.
