Situated in one of the most beautiful coastal areas in Brazil and conveniently located just 200 km north of Sao Paulo and 350 Km South of Rio de Janeiro, Ubatuba shelters one of the last remaining tracts of Atlantic Rain Forest ranging from mountain tops to sea level.
Many endemic species may be seen here, with the highlights being some of Brazil’s most spectacular Hummingbird feeders.
There are opportunities to see White-necked Hawk, Festive Coquette, Brown-backed Parrotlet, Buff-bellied and Crescent-chested Puffbird, Blond-crested Woodpecker, Rufous-capped Antthrush, Spot-backed Antshrike, Scaled Antbird, Salvadori’s and Unicolored Antwren, Spot-breasted Antvireo, Black-cheeked Gnateater, Spotted Bamboowren, Slaty Bristlefront, Buff-throated Purpletuft, Fork-tailed Tody-flycatcher, Eye-ringed Tody-flycatcher, Long-billed Wren and the Red-necked Tanager.
At night there is a chance of seeing Striped and Mottled Owl and Black-capped Screech-Owl.
